A Message from the Executive Director

Dear Members and Friends of The Center,

Thank you for allowing us to serve you in a capacity that is committed to providing solutions and the best outcomes possible. The Center for Developmental Disabilities Advocacy and Community Supports (CDDACS) is committed to strengthening the programs and services we offer so our member providers can do what they do best...run their centers.

For 17 years, we have fought hard for the recognition that all facility types are vital structures within the state of Illinois. We fully believe that to properly serve the needs of individuals with Developmental Disabilities, one must make a real choice of commitment and dedication. Our mission is simple - provide innovative solutions, distribute incomparable quality of service with integrity and with our core membership in mind.

Our goal has always been to build and sustain relationships with key legislators, state departments and like-minded advocacy groups that will allow us to respectfully represent our membership as well as advocate for individuals with Developmental Disabilities.

For more information about our work or if you're interested in becoming a member, please feel free to email me or contact me at the office, 217-527-3607.

Thank you for your support and the work we strive to do for all.

Marie Rucker, Executive Director
The Center for Developmental Disabilities Advocacy and Community Supports (CDDACS)

Welcome To The Center

The Center for Developmental Disabilities Advocacy and Community Supports (the Center) is a non-profit association comprised of community-based residential programs including Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILAs); Intermediate Care Facilities for persons with Developmental Disabilities (ICF/DDs);and Medically Complex for the Developmentally Disabled (MC/DD), that provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Illinois. Membership opportunities are also available to students, guardians and family members of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Since our inception in 2008, we have fought very hard for the recognition that all facility types are vital structures within the State of Illinois. We believe that in order to properly serve the needs of individuals with Developmental Disabilities “real choice” is crucial.

Our goal has been to build and sustain relationships with key departments and likeminded advocate groups that will allow us to respectfully represent our membership, as well as advocate for individuals with Developmental Disabilities.

The Center is governed by a board of directors elected by the association’s membership. The association is led by an executive director, who is responsible for implementing board and committee directives.
